The Walnut Antique Show is solely promoted, sponsored and pad for by the Walnut AMVETS and still has FREE ADMISSION and FREE PARKING.
The show is always scheduled for Father's Day weekend. If you haven't attended the Walnut show, we are sure you will be pleased with the variety and quality of the antiques at the show. We estimate that between 20,000 and 30,000 people shop the show each year. Plan to attend this year's show now and see for yourself why it is one of Iowa's most popular destinations. The turn-of-the-century buildings, brick and tree-lined streets, country hospitality and Walnut's own permanent malls and shops are a perfect setting. The fact that the event is held on Father's Day weekend makes it the perfect time to hold the largest antique show in the region.
The community and local organizations get involved by providing a variety of food and snacks for the ever-growing crowds. The Fireman's breakfast, church food stands, and American Legion serves everything from roast pork, spaghetti, brats, hamburgers, home-made ice cream, funnel cakes, and don't forget those frozen fruit bars. There are also some very fine restaurants in the area, including a fine bakery in the downtown Business District.
